our little family.

it would be lying if i said i hadnt been "inspired to blog" lately. im actually feeling full of inspiration (more lack of energy at this point) and my brain/body are in full nesting mode. but really, before we embark on adding another little body of testosterone to this household, im trying to really just enjoy our family as it is now. we have this flow going, a good routine and jeffrey and i feel like we've "got this". hahaha i laugh because of course right when we feel that way, its alllllll about to change. anyways, here are some of my favorite shots that sarah, ashley and reagan took back in february. our family as it is now- 4 here, 1 in heaven and one growing.

trash to treasure, yo.

you guys, after a seriously long and pretty crappy day last week, jeffrey and i took the boys downtown for pizza and then drove around the lake, looking for homes like we always do. and some silly person had gone through their garage (treasure trove) and thrown out furniture! and, to be honest, a lot of other crap too (floppy disks!) and i found me a something that i liked!
we had been "needing" (its all relative) a sideboard/buffet type thing in the dining room for a steal, aka free, and this piece fit the bill. so i went to lowe's, grabbed some paint, rifled through my knob collection to come up with a random assortment of clearance anthro knobs that i seem to accumulate and the hubs painted it for me. what a winner, am i right?
so, here she is. literal trash to treasure! and yes, it houses the lego police station- it must be protected from little brother.

100 Layer Cakelet Feature

Well, my back in the saddle routine is a bit rusty. Im just feeling like I am out of practice? Nothing seems interesting enough to blog about! But then! There is! LOOK!

Sarah asked us to do a little family shoot (which as I am pregnant I would normally refuse but I wanted pictures of the boys so badly) and it was featured on one of the cutest family/kids blogs, 100 Layer Cakelet! Obviously it is so fun to be on there but I really am just so grateful for these captured memories of our growing family... Thanks Sarah and Ashley and Reagan!!

this weekend, i will have been married 5 years to that ^ guy.

lucky me.

for real.

in our 5 years of marriage, we have experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of the lows.

but jeffrey, i couldnt think of anyone i would rather be doing life with.

i love you everyday.

weekender

it seems so unbelievably boring to post about a weekend that is only spent cleaning the house an running errands, so thats why the past few have been exempt.

this weekend, however, felt like we were running around like decapitated chickens.

saturday we drove down to the middle of nowhere florida for jeffreys work picnic.

he works at a mine (in an office) so all the kids got hard hats and dug for fossils, jackson was in heaven.

did i mention sno cones?

oh yes, sno cones.

straight after the picnic we drove up to orlando for my sisters first prom.

nothing like a good drama filled prom afternoon to remind me why i am so glad im not 16 anymore right?

except for the pre baby body, the careless lifestyle and the no responsibility!

she looked beautiful in my moms vintage dress!

sunday was filled with errands, a missed morning at church but quiet time for me, a super fun birthday party, dinner with the in laws, grey sea salt brownies (tune in wednesday) and this semi chubby munchkin.

...of the population who own an iphone. yes, thats right folks, im up to date with technology.
whats that you say? no excuse for not posting the rest of of grown up christmas lists and being gone for a month?
quite right, quite right.
what if i told you that ive been sick for a little over a month? with my third set of ear and sinus infections? would you feel kinda bad?
no? okay, fine.
well whether you are okay with my absence or not, here we are.
back in the loving arms of the blogosphere.
hold tight! because even SNL is making fun of bloggers both successful and the not! (it is pretty funny and true)
but oh! there is life to share!
today my baby boy is 7 months old!
whaaaaaat?
how did that happen so fast? thats closer to one than to birth!
and this weekend i am toting that baby down to sofla for a little shooty shoot with sarah (the bombdotcom) of 1313 photography and also of reallygreatfriend ness.
and im doing the flowers! and assisting in styling!
with my friend! and my mom! and my baby! and ashley and philip! (heyyyyy ashley and philip)
so there will most definitely be pictures of that here and over on thistle and tulle (which will be making a resurgence!)
